The Limbz Bio's 01/28/03 update 09/27/2008
The group came to be a reality back to 1989 when Xtek Overload, Kaj Maj ( Ka = knowledge j = Joshua and Maj is major or Magellan) back at DP high they became a duo called Poetic Justice, at the same time Ize was going to SB high and performing, dancing, and rhyming battles at house parties from "Goletz" to the East and West. Eventually the guys found out that they we're infact brothers. This allowed for a less competative relationship between Ize and Kaj. Xtek provided the micropphone and the Instrumental tracks and helped to make demo tapes. For the next five years the group was known as "The Outta Limbz" this changed later as a simpler name was easier to say in rhymes and related. Like their previous identity which was over shadowed when the movie "Poetic Justice" was released in nineteen-ninety two. The TV show the "Outer limits" came back in re-runs and was not something the group wanted to be related to.

Year after year the group stayed together through different phases of each of the members life’s and continued writing lyrics - even when time or the unavailability of a studio arose; which was definitely too often due to the trifilin' problems of having to move large and heavy studio equipment from apartment to apartment; or the always evident family problems that XTEK had; to the arguments between young memberz of The Limbz.. It has always been hard for the limbz to get a permanent home studio that allowed for flexible hours and all year around access. Thankfully each member in the group brings a whole different personal dynamic to the overall sound of The Limbz. Now days, since JRA has helped the group since 2000 the studio that was always needed is a reality, constantly displaying a lit-up sign that says "recording".

The New album "Vocal Vital Vitamin Supplement" came out fall of 2003. KAJMAJ gave it the name, it stuck, till it was on the side of a bottle pictured in The Limbz album cover. This album is much different than the shorter and more of a debut album, which was called "The Limbz Brain Child EP".A great set of songs, although at that time the group was going through changes. XTEK was dealing with serious medical issues and JRA was learning the ropes in order to produce Vocal Vitamin Supplement. The brainchild EP was made up of select songs that we're written over a ten year span so the technology for independent music improved a thousand fold over that time. Each song on Brainchild had a very different texture from one song to the next. Where as "Vocal Vitamin Supplement" had its tiny technical hurdles. V.V.S. ultimately has a consistent sound a more linear texture. V.V.S. has many different styles as each song takes the listener on the Vocal Vitamin Vital Supplement journey.

XTEK OVERLOAD is now working on an Internet Radio station, which is a less stressful and much more gratifying - he states. He is still planning on getting back in the studio with members of The Limbz. Currently he's archiving and documenting his own development in the last ten years. Some of this can be heard on two internet radio stations, one requires "RealOne player" at a site developed by XTEK OVERLOAD with the help of Gilberto Ortiz, Timothy Tyndall and contributions such as Frank Ramirez from the "Check it out Video Show". Take a listen to the radio at http://www.rain.org/rvbn/

The other Srequires station can connect through any player from http://somaradio.sbcc.edu a new college radio station which was set up by George Duarte, XTEK OVERLOAD and Devin Neiman thanks to the Chair of Multimedia at SBCC.

(Note: The preceding links are no longer active or have changed format. X.TEK OVERLOAD can now be heard on KCSB.ORG. The Chronometricz Show airs on Fridays on KCSB 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara.)

JRA's Eeko system productions was instrumental in getting the group through the last three years. Since 2000 while XTEK was coping with Chemo and the "slicing and dicing" of Dr. Waxman’s boys, the Morphine, and the illness was tough psychologically. The group continued and we would like to thank JRA for his support of the group and encourage him keep working on his own projects in the future.

KAJMAJ is currently in writing and recording mode through this FALL 2006, for a solo project (2008 looks like the release year). IZE is currently enjoying his new family life and writing for his solo Project. XTEK OVERLOAD is continually writing new music for a self motivated project and also other projects. XTEK is also working on many single songs to be compiled in the future with new groups such as Hardlinerz, Chui Malik/Shaka, Loyalties, and Leprechaun Committee, on all new state of the art equipment. (LOL)

To be continued....
